MALAYSIA (The Forth Series) Type 1

Bank Negara Malaysia has announced that the new Malaysian banknotes series will be introduced into circulation from 16 July 2012, replacing the current series that has been in circulation for over ten years. Themed ‘Distinctively Malaysia’, the banknotes feature intricate illustrations of the nation’s culture and traditions.

In this series, the RM2 banknote was no longer issued, while a new RM20 banknote was included in the line-up. This new series of banknote will co-circulate with the existing banknotes which remain as legal tender.

The smaller denominations of banknotes (RM 1, RM 5) are more commonly used in day-to-day transactions and printed on polymer to increase their level of durability. The larger denominations remain printed on paper.

Omani Banknote. 1995 Series

The rial is the currency of Oman. It is divided into 1000 baisa (also written baiza, بيسة).

On 7 May 1970, the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman issued banknotes in denominations of 100 baisa, ​1⁄4, ​1⁄2, 1, 5 and 10 rial saidi. These were followed by notes for 100 baisa, ​1⁄4, ​1⁄2, 1, 5 and 10 Omani rials issued by the Oman Currency Board on 18 November 1972. From 1977, the Central Bank of Oman has issued notes, with 20 and 50 rial notes introduced that, followed by 200 baisa notes in 1985. A new series of notes was issued in 1995, and the 5-rial notes and higher were updated in 2000.

Hondarus Banknote

The Bank of Honduras and the Banco Atlantida issued the first lempira banknotes in 1932. They were in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 lempiras. The Central Bank of Honduras took over production of paper money in 1950, introducing 50 and 100 lempiras notes in 1950, followed by the 500-lempiras note in 1995. The lempira is the currency of Honduras. It is subdivided into 100 centavos.

Nepal Banknotes. 2012 Series

Between 1945 and 2007 Nepalese banknotes were issued with the portraits of four different kings. Starting in October 2007 the king’s portrait was replaced by Mount Everest on all notes which have been issued since.

In 2012, Nepal Rastra Bank issued a revised banknote series that are similar to the 2007 series, but now include inscriptions in English and the date of issue on the back.
